How did I get here?

Did you start out on a life path hopeful about the possibilities of creating meaningful work, deep intimate relationships, and friendships only to find, somewhere along your journey, that the way became less clear, overgrown, and difficult to find?

Despite your best efforts, do you feel stuck, as if circling back to the same old ways of living? Do you wonder, “How did I get here and how do I find a path forward, one that feels alive, connected and true to my heart?” Perhaps you’re not quite sure where to start or how to connect with and trust your own inner compass to find the way home...if so, you're not alone!

  • Bring curiosity, compassion, and kindness to all parts of yourself.
  • Build a deep listening and care for all of your experiences.
  • Befriend the parts of you that protect you and those that have been exiled.
  • Unburden and transform old wounds.

My passion is helping people who have sustained relational and developmental trauma. The kind that often shows up as overeating, substance use, shame, depression, anxiety, anger, and a deep sense of disconnection from self. As a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist and NARM® Master Therapist/Practitioner based in Duncan, BC, I bring two complementary approaches to this work. IFS helps you build a compassionate relationship with the parts of you that hold pain and protection. NARM, the NeuroAffective Relational Model, works directly with the patterns of disconnection that take shape when our earliest needs for safety and attunement weren't consistently met. Together, they offer a path home to yourself.

Healing, is really a journey of coming back into relationship with all parts of one’s self...

Healing, is really a journey of coming back into relationship with all parts of one’s self...

Relational Trauma

For many who have experienced early relational wounding, where our needs for connection and attunement, were not consistently met by caregivers, there is a general feeling of disconnection and lack of vitality. This pervasive feeling of disconnection is a result of having had to develop protective strategies to survive. Parts of us took on roles such as caretaking, perfectionism, and independence to cope with the pain of disconnection. Many of us found other ways of self soothing through food, addictive substances, work, sex, or shopping. But as we journey down the path of life, these protective strategies that once saved our lives by creating distance from our bodies and emotions, now tend to create more suffering.

Healing, is really a journey of coming back into relationship with all parts of one’s self, understanding the good intentions of our protective parts, and healing the young parts of ourselves that hold grief, anger, fear, and shame. This healing journey is a way of offering ourselves the deep presence and attunement we have longed for all our lives.

This is where IFS and NARM meet most powerfully. NARM, in particular, was developed for healing developmental and relational trauma, and it's what allows the work to reach patterns that took shape before we had words for them.

If you know there is more connection and ease possible than what you are experiencing now, and you know that you want to change, but don’t quite know how, please reach out now to schedule a consultation with me.

I'VE

been there!

IFS and NARM Therapist in Duncan, BC.

I’ve been in the thick of not knowing which way to turn, feeling disconnected and untrusting of my own inner knowing.

At age 29, I was lost in the woods of my life, disconnected from myself, in an unfulfilling marriage, struggling to build my career and feeling deeply unsatisfied, lonely, empty, and depressed. I longed for a greater sense of connection to myself, for more connection to my vitality, and for nourishment from my relationships and my work. I had a small inner voice that knew more was possible, but I had no idea how to get there.

It has been a journey finding my way home... I'd like you help you too, get in touch and let's talk it through.
